We were tasked to design an alternator mount off the side of a head on a ford cvh engine
Nothing of this type has been done before on this engine so we designed a unique set up to be driven off the camshaft
After measuring the head for the hole positions we need and the camshaft for the drive we could start designing the mount
The main body of the mount is made out of aluminium and also the alternator pulley
The main drive of the shaft was made out of titanium
The alternator pulley was a press fit onto the shaft and had french keys installed to stop it rotating on the shaft
The alternator pulley was recessed and holes added to aid lightness
